Loving nicknamed “Yoda Cat,” this kitten had no trouble finding a new home after the #northcomplexfire
The CARES program doesn’t just work to help save dogs and cats but also livestock and all sorts of other animals. It’s also important for us to be thankful for the animal control officers from all over the state who tirelessly worked in dangerous conditions to save our state’s animals.
The CARES program supports local governments in their disaster planning efforts related to animal evacuations, shelter and care during disasters. This pooch was rescued during the North Complex Fire.

CARES Survey Results

In Spring of 2013, CARES surveyed animal emergency stakeholders throughout California to determine the status of their emergency plans. Responders to the survey were able to identify both strengths and gaps in their state of readiness. An overview of the survey can be accessing the link below. Specific questions can be directed to the CARES Staff.
